Dr. Bougie completed his medical training and residency in general surgery at the University of Sherbrooke between 2007 and 2016. His post-doctoral training in hand, he then completed a specialized training program in minimally invasive bariatric surgery at the McGill University from 2016 to 2017 (fellowship). He then continued his training by completing a fellowship in traumatology at the University of Ottawa in 2017-2018 while working as a surgeon in the same hospitals. Since September 2018, he has worked as an active member of the general surgery department of the Pierre-Boucher Hospital within the CISSS de la Montérégie-Est.
Alexandre Bougie MD, FRCSC
Dr. Chagnon completed his medical training at Laval University from 2000 to 2005. He then completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Sherbrooke from 2005 to 2010. After Dr. Chagnon spent a few months at the Valleyfield Hospital, he worked at the Pierre-Boucher Hospital since 2011. Having completed additional training in bariatric surgery in 2015 at the Hospital AZ Sint-Jan from Bruges in Belgium with world-renowned professor Dr. Bruno Dillemans, his current practice is mainly focused on digestive and bariatric surgery. Since 2011, François has worked as an active member of the general surgery department of the PB Hospital within the CISSS-ME.
François Chagnon MD, FRCSC
An experienced bariatric surgeon, Dr. Naji Wakil holds a doctorate in medicine from Laval University in Quebec.
He then continued his training as a specialist in general surgery in the University of Montreal network before completing an additional one-year intensive training in laparoscopic bariatric surgery in New York City.
Since 2015, he has worked as an active member of the general surgery department of the Pierre-Boucher Hospital within the CISSS de la Montérégie-Est.
Naji Wakil MD
Dr. Bouchard completed his medical and surgical training at McGill University between 2010 and 2021. During his training, he completed a master's degree in epidemiology in 2019, within the clinician-scientist program, focusing on the quality of bariatric surgery in Quebec. He then continued his training at the University of Ottawa in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery (fellowship) in 2022, then at the AZ Sint-Jan Hospital in Bruges, Belgium. He has authored several medical publications, as well as a presenter at multiple conferences on obesity in Canada and the United States. Since 2022, Dr. Bouchard has worked as an active member of the general surgery department of the Pierre-Boucher Hospital, within the CISSS-Montérégie-Est.
